How to enable YouTube Super Chat

YouTube is one of the most popular destinations for streams; consequently, it offers lots of opportunities for content creators and live streamers to make some money with it. YouTube Super Chat is one of those options.

If you are new to the world of YouTube monetization or just a bit frustrated with all the required settings, here is our detailed guide to enabling Super Chat and integrating it with your Wave.video streaming studio.

Indeed there are only 3 steps you should carefully follow once to enable it forever.

Step #1: Check if your YouTube channel is eligible for Super Chat

To make money with YouTube, at first, your channel should gain some credibility and meet the following requirements:

  • At least 1,000 subscribers

  • 4,000 public watch hours (Stories and short videos are not included)

  • 2-Step Verification

  • 0 active Community Guidelines strikes

As long as you have turned on monetization on your channel, you should meet the following requirements for Super Chat:

  • Enabled live streams with live chat

  • You are at least 18 y.o.

  • You are residing in a location where the Super Chat feature is available

  • Your videos are public and aren’t made for kids

Step 2: Enable Super Chat

You have turned on monetization, and your channel meets all the requirements for Super Chat; it’s time to turn it on.

2. Click Monetization in the left navigation menu.

3. Next, at the top of the “Channel Monetization” dashboard, click “Supers” and then “Get Started.”

4. Now, follow the on-screen instructions and ensure the “Super Chat” toggle is “on” (blue).

That’s it! Your YouTube channel is ready to become your money-making tool.

Super Chat in Wave.video studio

Now, every time you stream on YouTube with Wave.video in the studio you’ll see all the messages from YouTube Super Chat highlighted with the same colors. Moreover, there is a special tab for all Super Chat comments.

Super Chat messages can be shown on the screen as regular comments. In addition to the comment text, it would show the donated amount of money.

Note: If you have enabled Super Chat in your YouTube account, in Wave.video it would be shown automatically.
