Thanksgiving is a Federal Holiday, marked by many religious and cultural observances. The traditional meal Americans have on Thanksgiving is Turkey, if that wasn't obvious {#SaveTheTurkeys!}. This holiday was originally started by the Pilgrims and is held on the fourth Thursday in November.
Create a "Thank You" wall. This is a great idea for any office. At the beginning of the month, we suggest posting a fall-themed or colored (Deep browns, greens, yellows, reds, etc. Think of the changing color of leaves in Fall for reference.) piece of paper on a wall, and provide employees with sharpies. Don't pressure them, but let them write something they're thankful for at the office, and near Thanksgiving, or the end of November, you can post this to all your social media channels to explain how your company exercises and practices "Giving Thanks" which is what Thanksgiving is supposed to be about.
Give to your local community. Help your company gain exposure and recognition (and also just to help the community) by participating in a food drive, a soup kitchen, and building houses for Habitat for Humanity.
Be unique. The best part about being a company is also having the ability to give in a lump sum. If you're a restaurant, donate food. If you're a bank, give promotions off checking and savings accounts for a limited time. If you're in Technology, why not offer a discount for a couple months or off an annual subscription?
Facilitate Time For Your Employees To Enjoy The Holiday. Work is important, and being hardworking is crucial to the success of any company. However, rewarding your employees will always be in your best interest, and will create motivated employees who are dedicated to your cause.
