We're celebrating the band... not the insect! Many people aren't aware of why June 25th is Global Beatles Day, but the explanation is pretty simple. On June 25th, 1967 the Beatles performed their new song, "All You Need Is Love" on BBC as part of the "first global transmission broadcast ever" as stated by RoadieTuner.com.
- Landmark. Since this is a pivotal moment for many of the Baby Boomers and Generation Jones' folks, it's endearing to many of their hearts, so this day is very memorable to them. In order to celebrate with them, the GBD's official website encourages songfests in neighborhood parks, re-enactments of concerts, "hip oldsters talking to youngsters" about the Beatles, and so much more.
- Simplify. If you don't have any desire to do the above, you could always share your favorite Beatles song, or create a video of some fun facts about your favorite Beatle band member!
